Stars and more Stars in Hollywood, Los Angeles

The sidewalk is a wall of tourist spam.

Here at the 68 hundred block of Holly wood Boulevard, an astounding 2400 hundred embedded golden stars are testimony to the myth that in Hollywood dreams do come true. At least to these honored recipients.

Their necks at 45 degrees, the latest load of star gazers, are slowly shuffling along. Like me, we’re all looking for our particular celebrity that we deem to be star worthy.

I find mine. She was inducted on November 17, 2003 and she looked a picture in pink. I had to get a picture next to Britney’s star.

A bunch of Germans are ‘thrillers’ over Michael Jackson.  Here in LA, despite the cloud over his presumed sexuality, and the long line of young boys making visits to Never Never land to partake his ‘Jesus Juice’, it’s still surprising to see how revered he is today.

At Grauman’s Chinese Theater, it is still fascinating to pore over the many signatures, hand and foot prints of Hollywood long line of celebrities from its very start.

Having just read the autobiography of Michael Caine – it was particularly gratifying to see his own corner of fame.

There are a number of celebrity look-a-likes standing around along the boulevard. A steady line of tourists with Pavlov like consistency, stand by to get their photo taken.

Bat Women, Pammy, Lady Ga-Ga, Captain Jack Sparrow are all there.

I didn’t know Marilyn was so well endowed!

Star Maps……..

Simon Cowells house is in a state of renovation; Larry King has a nice Lexus, and Becks post box is…..pretty average.

It’s bizarre but true.

You can buy a $5 ‘Star Map’ and can actually visit the actual homes of the stars.

So, we did.

It is bizarre, voyeuristic, and yes I admit a little creepy. But we drive by the gates where Christina Aguilera lives (former home of Ozzy Osbourne where ‘The Osborne’s’ kicked off…..)

Becks house is well hidden. But when a young, good looking Latino male checked Becks post box, of course he wasn’t going to tell me if the god of English football lived there……

Nevertheless, it is still a quiet sunny, Sunday afternoon. Nobody is around, except other tourists driving by doing the same thing, there Map blocking their view.

It doesn’t seem real, but we peer up at the house where Michael Jackson died. I really could have been driving around West Vancouver – it just seemed so ordinary…….

Simon Cowell`s Work in Progress......

But then again, this isn’t ordinary. This is the city of dreams, where the stars live…..but it has a sad, and dark under belly.

Its just a grassy hill now.

We figured the house must have been demolished along time ago.

But the location where Sharon Tate was murdered by one of Charles Manson followers was our exit to leave all that madness behind……..

In the meantime……..

Peaaccceeee out sisters…..
