Dancing with The Stars: Nicole Wins!

Len Goodman summoned it up: “There can only be one winner of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ It should be you.” Yes, Nicole won and a worthy winner she is.

Admittedly she did have a huge advantage having been a dancer since the age of 6. Yet, she possessed that certain intangible, that x factor that made her shine over her final two competitor: Evan Lysacek. He fell short in the freestyle dance, doing some 50’s type boog- a -loo. Why didn’t do something majestic and menacing like he did the last week? That was fabulous, this was just blah. And their last dance, the quick step, was technically great but just didn’t have any personality. No wonder, when we took a peek behind the curtain, we saw Evan and Anna staring into space, while Derek and Nicole were going through their moves just having a great time. And it showed. Their sensual Tango was just brilliant and scored 3 perfect ’10’s and they did ‘leave it all on the dance floor’ for their final jive to ‘Proud Mary’, getting another perfect 10, 10, 10 and virtually blowing the whole auditorium apart. With Pammy steaming up the floor as only she could and, Kate ‘The Tree’ Gosselin having apparent troubles marching backwards, it really was an awesome finale and another sad closure to one more favorite show this season. But I have to say, when Kate went up in that lift after her wooden routine, and stared right into the camera 20 feet up – I just had to laugh. In some weird way, she seemed to redeem her self just a tad with that move. Looking at host Tom Bergeron’s reaction, we were all just as stunned by what we just witnessed!

Some may say, why would you wanna watch that puerile rubbish? I’m sure Bill Hicks would be spitting blood if he were alive today (issues and all). But if it is pap to pacify the masses, it’s bloody good stuff nevertheless. Entertaining it is – as its very essence it is about turning motion into art and if you work at it, you to can do the same. But, really its saving grace is that has its tongue is firmly in its cheek and just doesn’t dare to take itself so seriously. So, farewell Len and Bruno – I’ll be checking you out in September!

Survivor: Heroes vs Villains: Sandra wins!

It was sooooo good to see Sandra win! And yo could see, it just killed Russell. When he produced that letter – protected in plastic! – from JT, it showed him for the completed A**hole he really is. I’ve always wondered if a contestant who had no morales or conscience played the game, would they win the $1 million? But, as Boston Rob said ‘You played to get to the end, not played to win’ and added ‘I’d be willing to go back, and kick your ass around the island!’ Brilliant!

But he makes a good point. As Russell progressed, he burned like a hot poker through wax, lying, cheating and using people to get to the final three. But, in doing so, he left a trail of destruction and embittered people. Rupert said only 5 people in the entire theater liked him (his family) and he didn’t gain one single vote from the jury. The microcosm of Survivor can be very telling, as it mirrors the way we interact together, to get somewhere, to gain something from others. Russell not winning at least shows that treating others so badly to get ahead, doesn’t always succeed. There’s hope for my children’s kids yet! (BTW – Russell was reportedly booked for Battery in Louisiana recently, after shoving a women to the ground, after getting into a verbal fight. Can you say: Looosssseeeerrrrrr!)

Richard Hatch would have still kicked his ass!!!!

for now: peeeeaaaccccceeeeee out sisters!
