About Me

An ex-pat from the land of tea and Becks, I arrived here 20 years ago via a chance encounter with a gorgeous Canuck in the Greek Isles. After the infamous 94 Stanley Cup run, I became a die hard Canucks fan. While I’m often mistaken for George Clooney, I was never the same after going to a Britney Spears concert. Either going old school to ‘Toxic’ or watching Corrie Street with a cuppa, life is a tad to short not to have some fun at least once a day.

For most of the year I work with ‘disadvantaged youth’, (who are really just kids like anyone else), as a Youth Worker in the public school system.

During the summer, I work at Aquabus Ferries Company which boat people across False Creek from Granville Island. I deckhand on the larger boats, and do crowd control during peak occasions such as Canada Day.  After the 2010 Winter Olympics,  I am also now known as Aquabus’s ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ – basically making sure passengers and staff alike are having a good time.

I am blessed to be living in one of the best cities in the world: Vancouver and proudly call myself a Canadian. Happily married for 20 years, we have two hooligan boys, two  lively dog and  3 cats……there, that about covers it….

Basically, this blog started life as a day by day diary of my adventures during the 2010 Winter Olympics here in Vancouver. Now it has continued to life beyond, and anything to do when I enter Planet Aquabus……
